Simlat Delivers SPOT-3G System for ING Engineering’s UAS Operator Selection Services in Canada

Simlat Ltd. has recently provided ING Engineering with an upgrade to its selection and assessment system, the SPOT (Selection by Performance-Oriented Testing). The new system, SPOT 3G, was used by ING to a select group of customers, to show the comprehensive performance-based selection processes for UAS and payload operators.

 

Herzliya, Israel, August 7, 2012 – Simlat delivers its 3G (third generation) SPOT system to ING Engineering as part of a system upgrade. ING Engineering utilizes the SPOT in screening and selection of candidates for the demanding position of UAS operation. The SPOT 3G takes candidates through a series of tests from the UAS world, logs their performance, and then presents clear reports which aid decision makers in selecting those candidates most suitable for the role. The upgrade includes new and improved tasks, a combination of piloting and payload operation skill tests, a user-friendly interface suitable for any user, and enhanced simulation features.

 

The SPOT 3G system was used by ING with a select group of customers in Port Hope, Ontario. Observers included members of the Department of National Defense, the Ontario Provincial Police, as well as representatives of Ontario Power Generation. ING’s training team used the SPOT to quickly assess the capabilities of a number of individuals to operate a UAV, using the enhanced simulation features and objective measure of candidate performance and initial skills.
